Yerba Mate is one of South America's most widely consumed and revered hot beverages. The drink is concocted by brewing the dry roasted leaves of the Yerba Mate tree that is native to the highlands of Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. 

Our Roasted Yerba Mate comes from Parana, Brazil that has an astringent, smooth, roasty character that comes from the roasting process the leaves undergo after being plucked. It is best in the morning, as it has high caffeine levels than coffee or tea. It is also rich in vitamin C, other naturally occurring nutrients, and antioxidants.

Energy: Mate has almost as much caffeine as a cup of coffee, as well as theobromine to help prevent the jitters or crash you get from coffee.

Caffeine Level: High, close to a cup of coffee

Brewing Hot: Use 1 tsp per 8oz of boiling water, and let steep for 5-10 minutes. If it tastes bitter, you went too long!

Brewing Cold: Make it the hot way, then put it in the fridge overnight. Yerba Mate doesn't steep well cold.
