All About Formosa Gunpowder Green Tea
The leaves of gunpowder tea are specially selected for quality, size, and style. They are then rolled into tight nugget-like balls, which allows the tea to keep a lot longer than other green teas. Our Gunpowder tea comes from the Taipei county in Taiwan.
When pouring boiled water onto the leaves, the tiny pellets open up like flowers and sink slowly to the bottom of the cup. This Gunpowder produces a strong dark green color with a a slightly bitter flavor. Please note that Gunpowder is denser than other teas, so one or two teaspoons for a teapot is all that is required.

Brewing Hot: Use 1 tsp per 8oz of boiling water, and let steep for 3-7 minutes.
Brewing Cold: Steep 6 teaspoons in a quart of boiling water, then add 3 quarts cold water and refrigerate.
This is my favorite green tea. It has a nice smooth flavor and help wake me up if I'm feeling a little sluggish in the afternoon.
